Welcome to the first winter newsletter. We hope that you are enjoying your time at university and hope that the first few weeks have been enjoyable. We would like to update you on a number of current developments Student Textbooks Online are currently undertaking which will enable you to get the most out of this new online service. The following developments are going to be taking place over the next few months.
· A new online news feed– This news feed will outline the latest student stories written on behalf of the BBC. There will be an opportunity for you to drop your messages on this news feed as this will allow you to share additional interesting stories which we are not aware of.
· A new online payment system– Instead of having a PayPal account when paying for textbooks, there will be an additional payment system which will give you the opportunity to purchase textbooks directly on your debit/credit card. This is a new system which we are considering given that a number of members have requested this.
· Feedback Board– This will allow you to share your stories to other students about your buying and selling experience.
If you have any ideas about what you would like out of this service in order to improve your buying and selling experience, we would like to hear your stories. We would like to tailor this service to your needs and will respond to any of the issues you may have. Remember, we are here to facilitate the marketing of your unwanted textbooks and most importantly allow you to take advantage of all the interesting new features which will shortly be appearing on the website.

Final year students
It is important for you to update your account details by accessing your account. If you have provided a university email address upon registration, it is recommended that you alter this and supply your private email address. This may include a hotmail, Google, yahoo etc email address. This is because once you graduate you are removed from the universities emailing system. Therefore, this will create a difficulty for buyers to approach you when interested in your item(s).
I hope you are able to sell your textbooks within the next few months using this service. Remember the more people using this service, the faster your items will sell. So keep inviting your friends to join this service.

Welcome back to the new university year!
Dear member,
Not long to go now until the start of the new university year. We hope that you have had a fantastic summer holiday wherever you have been doing. As it is only a few weeks until you either start university or are continuing with your studies, we would like to share with you some important news.
Firstly, we are delighted to share with you that there has been an extension to the competition which was scheduled to finish on the 31st August. We have now extended this until the 31st September on the grounds that a vast number of members have failed to check their universtity email inbox during the summer vacation. If you haven’t listed 6 textbooks, please visit the site today to do so for your chance to be entered into a prize draw to win an ipod.
Secondly, if you are a final year student and have provided us with a university email address, it is recommended that you change this to a private email address as this will allow buyers to contact you. Many final year students are no longer enrolled at the university and therefore are not able to check for incoming emails from buyers.
Finally, the next monthly newsletter will be published in October. This is your FREE and easy to read publication of student news. If you have an interesting story or something to tell us, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can possibly publish this in a copy of the monthly newsletter. Advertising in the monthly newsletter is FREE, so if you are a business targeting students, please email us.

Welcome to the June Newsletter,
Happy Summer Holidays....
As the majority of you have either finished university or have a few more years to go, it is this time of the year where you are able to chill out and possibly jet away on a short summer break with friends or family. Whether you have got a holiday booked or thinking of booking a holiday to compensate for the vast amount of studying you have done, raising the money for summer can be difficult. As we are in the crucial months in the run up to September, a vast number of buyers are looking around for their new course academic textbooks. So if you have any books which you want to sell, list them today and make the money you need to pay for that dream holiday.
In this month’s newsletter, we have a huge range of news to share with you.
A rapid boost in customers
Ever since Student Textbooks Online went Live just over 3 months ago, we are delighted to share with you that we have had a substantial amount of visitors on the site. This is great news because it allows your item(s) to be exposed across a wider array of customers from all over the world.
Festivals
It is festival season with the major festivals kicking off at the end of this month. Glastonbury is the first major festival at the start of the summer season and to round off the summer holidays Leeds and Reading festivals take place over the August Bank Holiday. With a number of other festivals such as Beach Break Live and Latitude taking place throughout the summer months, we are delighted to share with you that you will see us at the Beach Break Live Festival between the 16-18th June in South West Wales.
Competition
Remember to list your unwanted textbooks on this site for your chance to win an ipod. To increase your chances of winning an ipod to blast out those tunes while travelling around during your summer holidays, you need to list as many books on this new site. We have the technology to track down the user(s) listing the most books and you will be entered into the prize draw. At the moment an average of 1 book is being listed so if you list more than 6 books then you will see yourself being selected as the winner.
Final year students
If you are a final year student who has provided us with your university email address, can you please change this to your private email address. This may include providing us with your hotmail, yahoo, gmail or other email address as this will allow buyers to contact you in the future.

Welcome to the May Newsletter,
As it’s only just over a few weeks away until you finish your summer exams or if you are a final year student there is only a few weeks of your epic university life being a student left. I am sure you have had a fantastic life away from home meeting new friends, learning new things and enjoying the social life, which of course, must have been the best part of your life so far.
In this month’s May newsletter, we would like to address a number of key issues to you about listing books on the website and if you are a final year student, it is important that you update your email address .This will therefore enable you to continue to receive the monthly newsletter and most importantly, a confirmation outlining the buyers details when a buyer is interested in your listed items.
Make money for summer
For you to make money in a fast and ethical way, you can list all your unwanted textbooks on the website. As the months of June and July are a very busy few months of listing your items on the website, you will be exposing your items for sale to a larger target audience . This will in turn speed up the selling process of your items and enable you to receive the cash you deserve from selling your books giving you extra money to put towards a few weeks away in the sun, a night out catching up friends or even tying up the proceeds for future studies.
Winners from the April competition
We are delighted to share with you that the competition which closed a few weeks ago has been very popular and the winners have been selected. The winners for the April competition are two students from Northumbria University:

Remember there will be a new competition each month appearing on the website. This month’s competition which is scheduled to open in a few weeks involves listing your books on the website. Students listing the most books on the website will be entered into the draw which involves winning one of a few ipod shuffles. It is easy to enter. All you need to do is list as many of your unwanted books as possible on the website today.
STBO touring the UK’s universities
You may have noticed on the website that there is a new link called ‘STBO on tour’. Here you will find key dates when the Student Textbooks Online team will be appearing at your university. We have been working very hard to construct this diary but the confirmation of these dates will be made in the next couple of weeks. So keep visiting the website in the next few weeks to find out when we will be appearing on your campus.

Welcome to the April Newsletter
First of all, welcome to this newsletter, the first of its kind. We will be providing you with a newsletter each month and we hope the newsletter will become interesting in the forthcoming months. We hope you have been studying very hard at university/college and hope you have done very well in your course assessments so far. As its Easter, we have decided to give you a special treat. As the competition is scheduled to close in just over one week, we have decided to extend it for another 3 weeks.
We have decided to provide you with information on the new service. Take a look.
Competition
As you already know about the competition which went live just over 4 weeks ago for your chance to win a number of £30 Curry’s Digital vouchers, we will be selecting the winners in the next few weeks. The winners will also have the opportunity to act as home page models for the website.
Don’t forget about facebook
Join the facebook group today to receive all the latest information about this new service. Here, you will be able to stay in contact with this new online service as well as meet new friends from your university and other universities. You can join the facebook group for free by selecting the link on the vertical page menu.
Final Year students
If you have provided us with a university email address during the registration process, it is very important to alter your email address to a private email address as this will allow buyers to contact you when they are interested in you items for sale. You can alter your details by logging into your account and selecting the ‘modify details’ option.
Keep inviting friends
For the service to work effectively and for you to quickly convert your books into the cash you need, it would be great if you could invite as many of your friends as possible as this will allow your items to be targeted at a larger student population thus speeding up the selling of your books.
Tour dates
You will see a new section on the website in the next few days outlining the dates we will be appearing at your university. We will be commencing a 9 month plan in September 2010. We will be at your universities Students Union either during fresher’s week or during your semesters.
